Description
When running a VM using EFI and the ICH9 chipset you cannot have over 2047 MB of RAM allocated to the vm or it will not load the EFI firmware.
PIIX3 does not have this issue.
This was experience on an OS X 10.6.8 Server host.

Not reproducible anymore with a recent Virtualbox release, was likely fixed long ago.

Same here, however, the max RAM limit is different for me.
I need to set the RAM to 3392 MB or less for VBox to load EFI with ICH9. Setting it between 3393 and 3456 MB the EFI shell appears while with 3457 MB or more just nothing happens.
Setting the chipset to PIIX3, everything is working fine.
This happens with VBox 4.2.18 and 4.3 beta 2. VBox 4.1.26 is working properly.
