Description

Host: Dell M4400 4GB RAM,750 GB HDD

Win 7 Enterprise SP1 64b

Guest: ANY

1st tried VB 4.1.8, then tried uninstall - reboot - reinstall4.1.8 then tried uninstall - reboot - install 4.2.8. Then tried install 4.2.10. All cases behaved the same.

(On a different machine, host OS Win 7 Ent. SP1 32b (x86) VM's start fine, including copies of the same VM's)

“Cannot access the kernel driver! Make sure the kernel module has been loaded successfully.” Failed to open a session for the virtual machine VM_WinXPPro_BB. The virtual machine 'VM_WinXPPro_BB' has terminated unexpectedly during startup. Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: Machine Interface: IMachine {22781af3-1c96-4126-9edf-67a020e0e858}

Trying a VM I created from scratch, same results:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine dostry. The virtual machine 'dostry' has terminated unexpectedly during startup. Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: Machine Interface: IMachine {22781af3-1c96-4126-9edf-67a020e0e858}
