VirtualBox crashes when performing updates

Description

During windows update installation the client has crashed and disappeared.

We can only debug such problems if you can provide a Core_dump. Please reopen this ticket if you can provide one.

Hello Frank,

Thank you very much for your reply. I have translated your Wiki instructions for my Fedora system and added a file /etc/sysctl.d/custom.conf containing the following entries:

# Core dump settings
kernel.core_uses_pid=1
fs.suid_dumpable=1

which preserve the settings over reboots. I have also added the following in my .tcshrc:

# Resource control limits for shell processes
limit coredumpsize unlimited

The next time it will occur, I will be certainly in position to include the core file.

Insted of the shell startup script, the /etc/security/limits.conf file can also serve the same purpose with the following entry:

# Unlimited core for user panos
panos - core -1
