Description
Tried to create a snapshot of my virtual machine but got the error message: "Failed to create a snapshot of the virtual machine Ubuntu_12_04.". The VM was shut down when I attempted to create the snapshot. I also tried to take a snapshot when the machine was running but got the same error. I found this forum and it looks like others have had the same problem: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=28261.
I keep VirtualBox up to date, and I keep my Ubuntu VM's packages up to date. I also keep my Windows 7 host up to date. I use several shared folders. I am using a fix-sized VM hard disk. I have created several snapshots before and they worked fine. I have several snapshots available of that same VM that I could still revert to.
The link to the forum I just provided was from a forum created in Feb. 2010. You've had this bug for more than 3 years.
Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
