I have tried so much stuff I can't figure it out. I have spent so many hours for over a month now reading blogs and expiermenting. I even got help from someone on here who has spent some time for a few days trying to help. I am going crazy trying to get this to work.

The problem i guess what i have narrowed down so far is, the host Windows 8 wont release the device to the guest ubuntu
i have tried messing with my bios, unpluging the usb bringing focus to the guest and pluging it in, and so many more i cant even list it all (mostly because i don't even remember everything i have tried).
can someone please help!?
Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
