Consistently crashing when going full screen on multiple monitors

Reported by: danf84 Owned by:
Component: GUI Version: VirtualBox 4.2.6
Keywords: full screen crash Cc:
Guest type: Windows Host type: Windows

Description

I changed my VM settings to 2 monitors, started my VM, pressed Host+F and I get the standard Windows dialog to close the program because it's crashed. Since I have 3 monitors, I tried to set the VM to use 3 monitors, I set the VM to use 3 monitors also as a test; same problem. When I go full screen before the guest boots, full screen works, but when I come out of it, the same crash happens.

I can confirm this bug on Xubuntu host with WinXP guest. I configured the VM with 2 monitors. Whenever I press Host-F to switch from window mode to full screen or vice versa the VM crashes. The only chance to switch successfully between window mode and full screen is when the guest is booting and the guest desktop is not yet running. The mode switch worked perfectly with VirtualBox 4.1.18. Unfortunately, I didn't tested any other 4.2 version than 4.2.6.
