Description
- Virtualbox thinks the latest version is 4.1.22. Obviously that's wrong as 4.2.2 is the current download. The client needs to be fixed so it finds updates properly. 4.1.12 said 4.1.22 was the latest, and 4.1.22 says there are no updates.
- Virtualbox has NEVER been able to properly make a task bar shortcut. It always fails, and if there was one previously it corrupts it in the update. This should be a minor thing to fix, and yet it's been this way for years.
- The installer should be able to shut down instances of Virtualbox (confirmation button) rather than making you do it manually.
- Install of the extensions pack fails if you are not logged in as a user because it fails to trigger UAC so rights to install can be given. This forces you (provided you understand the cryptic error condition) to quit out, run as admin, install the pack, quit out, run normally to see your VMs again, when it could be much smoother.
- The installer always fails in some small way at the end, leading Windows to think it failed and pop up it's notice something went wrong and asking if you want to try again. This could lead to problems if you don't know that the installer is simply defective in it's closing and actually worked fine. This should be fixed.
