Settings - Proxy Does not accept embedded spaces in username

Description
In the VM Manager, settings, proxy page, the user authentication box does not accept embedded spaces in a username - which, under Windows, is perfectly legal.
My username consists of my firstname and lastname separated by a space character and so it cannot be entered.
The password box also exhibits the same behaviour and spaces in passwords are also legal.
This issue prevents the proxy from being set up if the username or password contains embedded spaces.
