VM does not attach any USB devices.

Host: Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) Guest: Windows XP (32-bit)

I created a filter for a USB flash drive. The Device menu option shows that the drive was captured but when I click it to attach it the VM I get the following:

Failed to attach the USB device Unknown device to the virtual machine Windows XP 32-bit

USB device SanDisk Cruzer with UUID {8846...} is busy with a previous request. Please try again later.

I followed the directions in the user guide to the letter, I have uninstalled and reinstalled virtualbox twice and nothing helps. Any suggestions?

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
