100 % cpu usage in 3.2.6

Reported by: now Owned by:
Component: VMM Version: VirtualBox 3.2.6

Guest type: Windows Host type: Linux

Description

With a Windows XP guest system VB uses 100% of one cpu although the guest system is idle. This happens on a 64-bit dual core machine. The host is Ubuntu 10.04, all patches applied. Is there any debug output that I should provide?

Log see above. One interesting observation: When the Windows guest started the CPU usage was relative low. Then one process - dont' know which one - on the guest used a lot of CPU for a minute or two. When this process in the guest ended the guest was more or less idle. On the other side: top showed that the CPU usage of VirtualBox was roughly 100 % - permanent - from this time on.

I have the same problem here (XP Guest / Ubuntu Host, 64bit, Core 2 Duo) but I have a workaround - saving and resuming the VM brings it back to normal.

It seems something happening during the boot process sends VirtualBox off the rails
