Audio Driver failure on Windows7 64-bit guest on Mac OSX 10.6.3 running on intel i7 based iMac host

Description
VirtualBox runs like a dream for everything I use. Sadly, the sole exeption is the lack of / failure of the Audio drivers needed for the Intel HD Audio chip on my Intel i7 based iMac running OSX 10.6.3
VirtualBox version is 3.2.4
Interestingly, the windows 64-bit running as guest on a 15" MacBook Pro also with OSX 10.6.3 but an Intel Core2Duo chip has no issues. Thanks for any help.

Such an audio driver for the guest is provided as of VirtualBox 4.0.
