using Bridge Adapter never gives IP on initial boot

Description
I am running host (Windows 7), guest os ubuntu 9.10 desktop. On first start of ubuntu 9.10, I never get an IP. After reboot then IP is assigned. This only happens with Ubuntu guest OS.
