GuestAdditions 3.0.6: hang after save/restore on 2+ core XP VM -> fixed in SVN/3.0.8

Description

Hi! A Windows XP guest installation with 2 cores and the 3.0.6 Guest Additions installed is unable to save/restore. After restore, nothing moves in the guest, no mouse, no keyboard, no background activity. Sometimes, there is full CPU load on all cores given to the vm; sometimes, there is a blue screen with STOP 0x50 "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA". I tried both the PUEL and the self-compiled OSE GA.

The situation only applies to VMs installed in IO-APIC mode, even when the number of cores is reduced to one later one (ACPI-MP HAL). It does not apply to non-IO-APIC single cores (ACPI HAL).

Guests w/o additions, or with additions 3.0.4, restore just fine.

It seesm to be a problem of VBoxGuest.sys. If I replace the VBoxGuest.sys with an earlier version, the problem does not appear (screen resizing does not work then, either, though).

Yours, Sebastian
