Numblock keys are broken with rdesktop -> use rdesktop -N command line option

Reported by: xeno Assigned to:
Priority: major Component: RDP
Version: VirtualBox 2.1.0 Keywords: rdesktop numlock numpad
Cc: Guest type: Windows
Host type: Linux

Description

We found an error with the numblock keys. I will try to explain it as best as i can:

* open a notepad
* type some chars
* type a number on the numblock
---> you have to type the number two times
* type some numbers
* hit a direction key
---> they make a number (2,4,6,8)
* sometimes the "4" key is interpreted as the left-key

I attached the log from a machine where i typed something in the notepad.

Please use -N parameter with rdesktop. Then numpad and cursor keys should work fine.

I'll see if it is possible to support the default rdesktop numlock synchronization method in the VRDP server.

  • keywords set to rdesktop numlock numpad.
  • status changed from new to closed.
  • resolution set to worksforme.
  • summary changed from Numblock keys are broken to Numblock keys are broken with rdesktop -> use rdesktop -N command line option.

Thanks for feedback. VBox user manual will contain a recommendation to use -N with rdesktop.
