#18221 new defect

Getting "can't apply partial context to unlabeled file" in Version 6.0.0 -> fixed after (not in) 5.2.26/6.0.4

Description

While booting after changing to Version 6 of VirtualBox running a guest Oracle Linux 4.1.12-124.22.4.el6uek.x86_64, I get the following message in boot.log:

VirtualBox Guest Additions: Starting.
chcon: can't apply partial context to unlabeled file `/opt/VBoxGuestAdditions-6.0.0/src/vboxguest-6.0.0/build_in_tmp'
Starting auditd: ^[[60G[^[[0;32m OK ^[[0;39m]^M

It seems stuff is working, I think, but would like to know if this error is a sign that trouble is on the way.

The machine log is also attached.

It does not seen that Oracle Linux 7.6 (4.14.35-1818.4.7.el7uek.x86_64) as far as I can tell.

The same error occurs in the current kernel release and updates. (4.1.12-124.24.3.el6uek.x86_64) there is a large pause (30+ sec) after this message occurs. Still unsure if this is causing issues of any kind.

Installed 6.4.0 of VirtualBox and the same error occurs.

No, no need to worry. It is a bit of SELinux silliness which was needed for some ancient Red Hat or Fedora (no idea now which) which we leave in in case someone installs there. I will mute the error so that it does not show in other distributions.

That was interesting as I was not getting any error before version 6.0.0.

Glad that it does not cause any issues.
