#15745 closed defect (fixed)

Mouse and keyboard integration not working correctly -> possibly fixed in releases higher than 5.1.4

Reported by: Mellon Owned by:
Component: guest additions Version: VirtualBox 5.1.2
Keywords: mouse, keyboard Cc: ÄxxlForce
Guest type: Windows Host type: Linux

Description

Host system: Ubuntu 16.04

Guest system: Windows 7 Pro 64bit with guest additions installed

Problem: Whenever I change from host to guest the mouse is correctly catched with mouse integration enabled, but several key combinations including Windows or ALT key are still handled by the host. However, if I manage to get the keyboard correctly connected to the guest, some mouse functions stop to work (e.g. windows maximization by dragging to upper screen edge). Fortunately, I was able to find a workaround by switching the mouse integration off. But now I always have to click once to work with the mouse in Windows whenever I change from host to guest and to switch off mouse integration after each start of the guest, what is quite annoying. Please fix it!

BTW: The mouse is configured as "USB tablet", but changing to "PS/2" does not change anything.

I hope that revision 110029 should fix this. I will update the test builds<1> within the hour if possible so that you can try it out.

Due to lack of testing this is not expected to be in the next release.

Host OSx 10.11.6, Guest OS/2

On 5.1.4 OS/2 mouse integration does not work correctly after installing Guest Additions. It gives two pointers with the system pointer on top of the Guest pointer. If the Guest pointer changes shape the system pointer does not and still sits on top of the Guest pointer. Haven't noticed the keyboard problem, but that doesn't mean it isn't there.

Disable mouse integration and the pointer problem goes away. Worked fine in 5.0.26 and with the 5.0.26 Guest Additions in 5.1.4.

@Cfly: you have an OSX host. You have a completely different problem, as you reported in #15834.
