Description
I was trying to load a vdmk file that I created in vmware in virtualbox because I wanted to try out virtualbox and I got a fatal exception when it tried to open. I'm attaching the error log and the image.

I also want to add that virtualbox becomes totally unusable after this error occurs. The entire program is unresponsive because the Windows XP won't stop. The only way of getting it to work is to reinstall the entire program.

Looks like you need to enable the IO-APIC in VirtualBox.
