Description

My distro is opensuse 10.1 ( kernel 2.6.16 ). I couldn't run successfully any OS in VBox. VBox always shows a black screen with a cursor and gets 100% of CPU. Unfortunately I can't provide more useful information for this ticket.

Fixed in 1.3.4.

However, I've used current svn-trunk (1.3.99) and there is the same issue.

Can you provide more information? There should be a log file in ~/.VirtualBox/Machines?/VMNAME/Logs/VBox.log. Without more information it's impossible to tell what's wrong and keeping this bug report open without having any information is useless.

Are you sure your ISO is OK (the size matches the size of my Knoppix 5.0.1 CD ISO)?

Your log confirms the "nothing happens" part. The logo is shown, then the guest switches back to text mode. Then it resets the secondary IDE controller (normal part of BIOS POST). And that was it. The next line should be Knoppix switching to graphics mode to display its boot screen. But of course that can only happen if the BIOS has booted from a working CD image.
