#12260 closed defect (worksforme)

VT-x not detected since VB 4.3

Reported by: lilian.moraru Owned by:
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 4.3.0
Keywords: VT-x VirtualBox 4.3 Cc:
Guest type: Linux Host type: Windows

Description

I installed VirtualBox 4.3 and it doesn't detect VT-x any more.

It trows the "This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU..." error.

It works all good on previous versions. I even removed VirtualBox 4.3 and installed VirtualBox 4.2.18 without restarting once and it worked in 4.2.18.

I attach a screenshot of the error and DxDiag.

Change the guest OS type to "64-bit" or use the command:

VBoxManage modifyvm <vmname> --longmode on

In that case I want to see a VBox.log file of such a VM session.
