InnoTek Contributor's Agreement (ICA)

With this agreement, you give InnoTek permission to relicense your contributions to InnoTek's projects. Your permission is perpetual, but non-exclusive; even though the below legal wording may seem excessive, you do not lose any copyrights to your contributions, and you can license them to other people as you wish. Most importantly, as opposed to other companies who operate with dual-licensing models, we do not require that you assign copyrights to us.

ICA terms and conditions

You hereby grant InnoTek Systemberatung GmbH ("InnoTek") a license to use your Contributions to InnoTek's Projects, under the following conditions.

"InnoTek's Projects", as referred to in this agreement, mean all software products that InnoTek has, at the date of signing, published or will publish in the future under an open source license, for example the GNU General Public License (GPL). Such projects include, but are not limited to, VirtualBox Open Source Edition (OSE).

"Contributions", as referred to in this agreement, means any past or future material such as source or binary code, artwork of any media, documentation, correspondence in mail, or similar material as usually found in relation to software. This agreement covers such contributions only as far as they are related to InnoTek's projects.

You hereby give InnoTek a world-wide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, yet non-exclusive license to use your Contributions to InnoTek's Projects in any way that InnoTek may see fit, including for commercial purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, the right to copy, translate, relicense, sublicense, modify, use, make available or public, sell, offer to sell, rent, lease, lend or otherwise distribute your contributions or modifications thereof, as well as any ideas contained therein that may be covered by patents under applicable law.

You formally release InnoTek from its obligation to name you as the author of your contribution and otherwise respect your moral rights, as you are aware that there are no such obligations in the GPL either and InnoTek may possibly want to redistribute your contributions under that license, and you permit InnoTek to act as the sole author and copyright holder of its Product. InnoTek will, however, make any reasonable effort to give you proper credit for your contributions, in the products' documentation materials as well as websites.

InnoTek will duly examine your contributions, but you understand that InnoTek is under no obligation to make use of them as described above.

You certify and warrant that your Contributions to InnoTek's Products do not violate the intellectual property rights of third parties and that you are legally entitled to grant InnoTek all of the rights listed above.
