= Bugtracker = This site offers a public bugtracker. In case you encounter problems with !VirtualBox or have other suggestions for improvements, please use this facility to report those issues, which will then be called a "ticket". Each such ticket receives a unique number that you can later refer to in order to see if any progress was made, or add comments to it. '''Please keep the following in mind before creating new tickets:''' * We receive many more bug reports than we have time to look at properly (or even at all!), and we have to choose which ones we spend time on. You can increase the chances that we look at your bug report by putting in the right work, both while and after reporting it (see for example [http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html this guide to reporting bugs]). However, please do not be offended if we are still unable to spend time on your report because we are forced to choose between it and other issues that appear more important to us. * If you are not sure whether or not the issue you have found is a bug in !VirtualBox, you might want to discuss it on the [wiki:"Mailing_lists" mailing lists] or the [http://forums.virtualbox.org VirtualBox forum]. See also [http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html this guide to asking questions on-line]. * Use the search function to find identical bugs others have opened before and report there instead of creating duplicate tickets. If you add a comment to an existing ticket, you will receive e-mail notification every time that ticket is updated. * Try to clearly describe the bug and ways to reproduce it. '''Attach your !VirtualBox VM session log file (VBox.log) to the ticket! ''' This file includes a lot of useful information and saves us time asking you for it. If you are using the main !VirtualBox user interface you can access the log files using the "Show Log..." entry in the "Machine" menu. * Please try to stay polite, respectful and relevant. Abusive, offensive and aggressive comments will be deleted, as will off-topic comments if they make it hard to follow the issue under discussion in a bug ticket. '''Note:''' To create new tickets, you must have registered with this site ''and'' be logged in with your user name and password. Use the "Register" and "Login" links at the top right for that. Then, use these links to access the bugtracker: * '''[/newticket Create a new bug ticket]''' (you must be logged in for this) * '''View existing bug tickets:''' * [search:?link&q=&ticket=on Search for bug reports] * [query:?status=new&status=assigned&status=reopened Advanced search] * '''Browse existing bug tickets:''' * [report:1 All open bug tickets] * All open bug tickets for a specific '''host''': * [report:10 Windows] * [report:12 Linux] * [report:11 Mac OS X] * [report:13 Solaris] * [report:17 all other or unrelated to a specific host] * All open bug tickets for a specific '''guest''': * [report:14 Windows] * [report:15 Linux] * [report:16 Solaris] * [report:25 BSD] * [report:49 OSX Server] * [report:18 all other or unrelated to a specific guest] * All open bug tickets for a specific '''component''': * [report:23 VMM] * [report:36 VMM/HWACCM: hardware virtualization (VT-x and AMD-V)] * [report:37 VMM/RAW: software virtualization] * [report:47 Guest SMP] * [report:22 RDP (remote desktop protocol)] * [report:21 USB] * [report:33 virtual disk] * [report:34 DVD] * [report:32 network] * [report:44 network/hostif] * [report:45 network/NAT] * [report:27 audio] * [report:39 uart] * [report:29 host support] * [report:28 guest additions] * [report:24 shared folders] * [report:50 guest control] * [report:38 clipboard] * [report:43 3D support] * [report:51 WDDM] * [report:26 VM control] * [report:48 EFI] * [report:46 OVF] * [report:30 GUI] * [report:40 GUI/seamless] * [report:41 GUI/compiz] * [report:42 GUI/multiview] * [report:31 installer] * [report:35 documentation] * [report:20 all other] * [report:9 All bug tickets reported by me (including closed)]
