VB 4.1.4, kernal driver error

After upgrading to VB 4.1.4 r74291, with 4.1.4 extensions installed I get:

"Cannot access the kernal driver!" when starting a VM, new (with a new blank .vdi) or existing. After clicking on "Abort", I get:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine 16.

The virtual machine '16' has terminated unexpectedly during startup.

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: Machine Interface: IMachine {5eaa9319-62fc-4b0a-843c-0cb1940f8a91}

When opening settings, I get "Failed to access the USB subsystem" & the same error codes.

I have uninstalled (even used "advanced uninstall" to clean up) & reinstalled older versions from ver 4.0.2 to 4.0.14 with the same result.
