BSOD when Online Armor installed

Description (last modified by aeichner)

Virtualbox 4.1.4 causes BSOD in Online Armor software firewall for Windows 5.1.0.1370 http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/6048-online-armor-5101370/page__view__findpost__p__35369

"It is an interaction we can't fix though. So please report it to the VirtualBox guys. The crash is caused by the VBoxNetFlt.sys driver that is always running even when VirtualBox is closed. To be more precise it crashes when freeing a chunk of memory. Most likely a case of bad error handling or parameter verification. "

I've experienced the same issues. I'm running Virtualbox 4.1.6 on my Windows 7 x64.

Having installed Online Armor Free 5.1 my system crashed every time I logged in (Bluescreen). I temporarily removed virtualbox - no bluescreens anymore.

An expert at the Emissoft forums told me that it was the virtualbox network drivers that caused these troubles.

I attached a guestlog and a minidump file.

A possible solution for your problem is described in Wish #6057

Any news about this issue? Fixing seems to be on duty by Virtual Box team!? The blue screen is caused by improper parameter validation inside the Virtual Box network driver when releasing NDIS related memory.

Any news on this? Emsisoft Online Armor is the only personal firewall that has the features I want, and I do not have the option to remove VirtualBox. It would be great if there was a fix for this.

Anything in the works?

Hello, is somebody exploring or working on this three years old issue? Co-installation of Emsisoft Online Amor and Virtualbox isn't possible so far, it is really annoying...

Can you actually reproduce a BSOD with the latest versions of VirtualBox and Online Armor? I tried to, with a debug build of VirtualBox and Online Armor 7.0. I haven't managed to do real traffic on the guest, except ICMP, but it hasn't crashed my host.

Yes, it is still not possible to use Virtualbox 4.3.x together with Emsisoft OnlineAmot v7.x or Emsisoft Internet Security 9.x, if Bridged networking is needed. Drivers are still not compatible: http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/14363-how-to-use-emsisoft-oa-emsisoft-is-v9-with-virtual-box/?p=114110
