Sorry, there is always a response time as we have only limited resources. If you keep this dump available a bit longer I hope we can analyze it.

Based on your crash dump it looks like memory pool corruption is the source of the issue.
Unfortunately it is hard to tell what have caused it by the time the crash occured.
It would be very helpful if you run vbox with enabled driver verifier. Running it like that should hopefully result in bsod at exact point of the pool corruption.
To enable & configure driver verifier please do the following

  1. run "verifier" command in elevated console -> this should open a "Driver Verifier Manager" dialog used to configure the verifier.
  2. Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" & click "Next"
  3. Select "Select individual settings from full list" & click "Next"
  4. Select "Special pool", "Pool tracking", "Force IRQL checking", "I/O verification", "Enhanced I/O verification", "DMA checking", "Security checks", "IRP Logging", "Miscellaneous checks" & click "Next"
  5. Select "Select driver names from a list" & click "Next"
  6. Select the following drivers:
NOTE: in case you do not see any mentioned driver in a list, click "Add currently not loaded driver(s) to the list", and select it there using the driver path presented in the braces in the list below:
    1. VBoxDrv.sys - (path: %windir%\System32\drivers)
    2. VMMR0.r0 - (path: <vbox_install_dir>)
    3. VBoxUSBMon.sys - (path: %windir%\System32\drivers)
    4. VBoxUSB.sys - (path: %windir%\System32\drivers)
    5. VBoxNetFlt.sys - (path: %windir%\System32\drivers)
    6. VBoxNetAdp.sys - (path: %windir%\System32\drivers)
  7. Click "Finish" -> verifier should prompt to do a reboot.
  8. reboot your host to make verifier settings be picked up

Now do whatever you do to get a BSOD. Once you get it, you could either post it to a public ftp server as you did, or drop me a mail at mikhail dot sennikovsky at oracle dot com and I will post you a link to our privet ftp server where you can upload the dump.

NOTE: once you're done with the verifier, don't forget to disable it back! To do that do the following:

  1. run "verifier" command in elevated console -> this should open a "Driver Verifier Manager" dialog used to configure the verifier.
  2. Select "Delete existing settings" & click "Finish" -> verifier should prompt to do a reboot.
  3. reboot your host to make verifier settings be cleaned up

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi [[BR]] It's good to know that you are see my dump at all. :)
Do all steps, but on windows xp i don't see "Security checks", in verifier, hope it don't be critical for dump ..
What i do to see dump ?[[BR]] Something about enable/disable adapter and enabel/disable "Virtual BOX bridge driver" in NIC settings.
Do it 3-4 times then get the dump
Here a link.
ftp://hometropic.ru/MEMORY3+verifier.zip[[BR]]

BTW i don`t use another virtualizer yet as i say ;) course it want linux as based system but i have no time yet for this :)

if you need something more - you're welcome !

Replying to fuziko:

Just do double-check: you do it in your host NIC properties (not VM network settings or something), i.e. go to "Network Connections" page on your host, open your NIC properties and check/uncheck the checkbox for "VBox Bridged Networking Driver", right?
Are you doing that while some VM bridging to that NIC is running?

  1. correct.
  2. course some guest machines as i wrote before always bridged to this adapter and work (have network traffic).
