Host type: other

Description

When using a pae kernel to access my full 4 gigs or ram on an opensuse 11.4 host, the Virtual machine crashes during boot. Here is the log  http://pastebin.com/0qpgCtyx . Without changing any settings on the VM, and booting the linux host with a default kernel, the Virtual machine runs without issues.

Kernels are: 2.6.37.6-0.7- ( default / pae ) Host: openSuse 11.4 32bit Guest: Windows 7 Home Pre 32it

  • Summary changed from Guest crashes on linux host with pae kernel to Guest crashes on linux host with pae kernel (Guru Meditation VERR_INTERNAL_ERROR_4)

Some more info on this issue. It seems disabling "Nested Paging" allows the Virtual machine to boot with the pae kernel. So maybe it is still an issue with "Nested Paging" and not the kernel?

  • Status changed from new to closed
  • Resolution set to fixed

In that case this problem is most probably fixed with VBox 4.1.4. Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 4.1.4.
