"VirtualBox modifyvm --cableconnect" failed on running VM

Description
cableconnect option may be used on running VM in VirtualBox client and through the webservice . But I tried from the command line and I get an error (Session is locked).

The command you are looking for is VBoxManage controlvm VM_NAME setlinkstate1. VBoxManage modifyvm is to modify the configuration of a VM, VBoxManage controlvm is for doing runtime changes.
