    initial v1
11I can confirm this same behaviour on vmware. Had spent hours in trying to figure it out on both virtualbox and vmware. However, there is a workaround in vmware. Using auto-connect feature, physically extract the device from the usb slot of the host machine and re-insert it back, and it magically works. Every single time. If you disconnect the device via the menu, it behaves exactly like above (target is unresponsive, etc) in VirtualBox and Vmware guests alike.
