#9019 closed defect (obsolete)

bonding is not working

Reported by: rysic Owned by:
Component: network/hostif Version: VirtualBox 4.0.10
Keywords: Cc:
Guest type: Linux Host type: other

Description (last modified by aeichner)

When I use bonding in VirtualBox Linux host it is not working after cable disconnection from one interface. Guest host is OpenSuse 11.4 and network interfaces are configured like in attachments. When cable is disconnected from main interface, connection is lost, so I think that something is wrong with ISO/OSI layer two in Virtual Box (bonding is using MAC addresses as I know). It is no difference if I use internal network or bridge interfaces.

I'm sorry but i don't have logs from VB, because of some strange errors with saving them... If you need that logs, I'll try to copy it somewhere.

Tested also with Debian guest and VirtualBox 4.0.10 (also not working). For two phisical interfaces it is working properly.

Replying to rysic:

Sorry, problem was with configuration :/

Could you please let me know what you have changed to make it working. I have the same problem. When "Cable connected" is unticked connection is just lost.
