#8888 new defect
Unabled to pass Command-Q (Super-Q/Win-Q) to guest machine from OSX host
Reported by: | dlee | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Component: | GUI | Version: | VirtualBox 4.0.6 |
Keywords: | shortcut | Cc: | |
Guest type: | Linux | Host type: | Mac OS X |
Description
First of all, Command-Q is assigned to Quit, so I had to change that shortcut key assignment by doing:
defaults write org.virtualbox.app.VirtualBoxVM NSUserKeyEquivalents '{"Quit VirtualBox VM"="@^q"; "Hide VirtualBox VM" = "@^h";}'
However, even after the shortcut key has been changed, Command-Q is not passed to the guest machine. Virtualbox silently absorbs the shortcut and doesn't do anything with it.
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
I have observed this behaviour with 4.0.10 and also with Command-H.
Note that when using a Dvorak keyboard layout (host & guest), the physical Command-Q and Command-H keys are absorbed, even though pressing physical Q types
'
and physical H typesd
.
