    1 I have found that each time you reconnect the drive, you will need to recreate the vmdk file, remove and release the disk using media manager, and then reattach the disk in the vm settings.  The disk appears to take on a new system identifier whenever its removed and reattached, which necessitates recreating and attaching it to the vm.
