Nested paging describes very well what happens. And the Intel and AMD name is already described in the manual. Sorry, but by opening such tickets you are wasting our time.

Since months VBox freezes here (see my other report), I tried several things but nothing works. So I wondered what "Nested paging" is, googled a bit and came to the conclusion that this name is a relict of old times and not understandable to a normal user. I also disabled it but performance was so low that I prefer a freeze from time to time.

To reply to you really unfriendly "wasting our time": Have you asked your product manager?

About freezing: open separate bug report, plus provide VBox Log. (and drop link here)

I don't consider my comment as unfriendly and it was not meant so. I don't see the point in changing the naming of a VM setting to be in line with some marketing terms which can change in a few month. As I said, the user manual describes the setting very well and you might or might not have noted that there is a huge number of open bugs. We have only limited resources.

Sorry, seems I got it wrong.

The mentioned bug is: #8628

#8628 is really a killer show-stopper. A total no-go for VBox on production systems!!

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
