Virtual machine is INACCESSIBLE after new add-on

Description (last modified by Frank Mehnert)

Folks: Today (4/27/11) I installed 4.0.6 on a Windows 7 machine with a Win XP Virtual Machine. After booting, it told me I need to download install 'VirtualBox 4.0.6 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack' which I did.

That installation stopped dead during the video driver section so I did a normal shutdown of the virtual machine.

When I started VirtualBox Manager, it would NOT come up at all, so I re-installed the 'VirtualBox-4.0.6-71416-Win.exe'.

Now the virtual machine is listed, but 'Inaccessible' with NO error message shown.

Last three log files are attached. Thank you.

The same happened to me!

comment:3 by dario, 13 years ago

I have to correct: the same happened to me, except I have a normal closing of the system. Foundamentally a "nude" win xp guest, I installed 'VirtualBox 4.0.6 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack'as above said. Then I waited for the last winxp updates & I shutdown all normally. Today I reopened all & the vdi seems to be unaccessible, as above.
