crash when logging into GNOME inside VM

Description

Booted up VM, logged in. Before GNOME desktop had completely loaded, virtualbox crashed.

Windows Application event log message:

Probably 3D-related. I assume this does not happen if you disable 3D for that VM?

I've disabled 3d but still get the crashes.
