VirtualBoxVM crashes when going from window to seamless mode — at Initial Version

Description
Mac OS X 10.6.6, VirtualBox 4.0.4. Guest is 64-bit Xubuntu 10.10 with current Guest Additions installed.
When I attempted to enable seamless mode, the VM stalled for several seconds before crashing.
Seamless mode worked as expected before the crash and after rebooting the VM.
