#8437 closed enhancement (fixed)

Fullscreen-mode should be supported on Mac OS X 10.7

Description (last modified by Frank Mehnert)

Mac OS X 10.7 Lion adds a new feature fullscreen apps, as you can see here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/lion VirtualBox seems like a perfect fit. Currently I put VirtualBox on its own Spaces desktop, but the fullscreen solution is clearly better.

Do we have an update on this? Just curious of this is being worked on or rejected.

Thank you.

Of course not rejected (in that case we would have closed this ticket as won't fix) but there are currently many other tasks with a higher priority.

I guess VirtualBox is using QT for the Max OS X GUI? So waiting for QT support.

A bug report for this feature is at: https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-21607

Though some of the comments seem to say it's implemented for some types of application. Will look into it further.

Seems to be in QT5, here's a link to the documentation:

Qt::WindowFullscreenButtonHint 0x80000000 On Mac OS X adds a fullscreen button.

A greatly appreciated improvement!

Should there not be a button on the titlebar for each window? As penx describes above.

Also, the default shortcut for this mode in OS X is Control–Command–F and not Command–F. I understand the technical problem of this but it should work at least when the guest system has keyboard focus.
