Description
Ubuntu 10.4 on Virtualbox on Windows XP host crashes repeatably when installing the Eclipse-pde plugin development tools.

Thanks for the quick response. Decreasing the memory to 1 GB did not help. Will try an upgrade to 4.0.2.

Installing 4.0.2 did the job. I could install Eclipse with a memory setting of 1.5 GB.
Problem solved.
(My second test on 3.2.12 was again with 1.5 GB. I changed the setting but noticed that it was still on 1.5 GB after I installed 4.0.2)

1.5GB guest memory are the upper limit on 32-bit Windows hosts and this is also the reason for your guest crashes (of course the crash itself is a bug).
Either decrease the amount of guest memory or try to upgrade to VirtualBox 4.0.2 which should allow more guest RAM on 32-bit hosts.
