Reading from Shared folder eats much CPU in guest OS!

Description (last modified by )
I have observed this for a long time (which I don't remember exactly how many months or years).
Host OS is Windows XP/SP3 with all latest patches installed. Guest OS is Windows Server 2003.
I have a shared folder on host OS and in guest OS the folder is mapped as a driver letter. Whenever there is reading access to this mapped drive, I can see very high CPU spikes (mostly kernel time). I believe this is a problem of the VirtualBox network driver.
