Seamless mode gnome menu issue

Description (last modified by Michael Thayer)

Hello, I am having a problem with gnome menus, (application, places, system) displaying when I'm in seamless mode and any of my guest windows have the focus. The menus highlight when clicked but do not display until I put the focus back on one of my Ubuntu windows, or click an empty spot on the desktop to move the focus back to the host. I have noticed mouse overs work, and the menus accept the click and change colors, just no menu appears.

I have tested and found this problem present with an XP guest and a Windows 7 guest, both of which have the latest guest additions. I have tried turning the visual effects off. I can't find anything to remedy the problem, besides turning off seamless mode.

I don't know if it's useful, but I have solved the problem disabling the "Auto Capture Keyboard" in Virtualbox <File-Preferences-Input>.

Similar issues using Vbox 4.2 on Mint 14 cinnamon. Seamless mode creates focus issues over multiple monitors. When the VM is selected you cannot open host menus from task bar. It also creates issues when programs prompt for password and taking a screenshot.

Hi,

I have the same problem using Host Gnome-shell 3.12 and Guest W7. I have to switch the applications (Alt+tab) to restore the windows that disappeared.

Adrianx64, I think that is a different issue which should be fixed by now. Please try a current test build<1> to confirm.
