Protocol error with junctions in shared directory

Host: Win XP Pro SP3 32bit
Guest: Ubuntu 10.04 32bit

In a shared directory on the Windows host I have created junctions (aka "reparse points") to other directories. When using guest additions 3.2.12 these are treated as regular directories and the contents of the linked directory is shown.

With guest additions 4.0.0 (both versions tried in the same VM in VB 4.0.0) when I try to "cd" into one of the junctions, I get an error like "bash: cd: Junction: Protocol error" where "Junction" is the name of the junction.

Please fix the problem with creating junctions (reparse points) from "shared" disk of VirtualBox to a guest HDD. When I trying to make a junction, I got an error "The data present in the reparse point buffer is invalid. Cannot create the link". It is a 100% reproducable problem. Guest OS: Windows XP SP3 x86

Host OS: Windows 2003 SP2 x86

Virtual Box 4.3.6 R91406, Extensions the same

This is a really annoying problem :-( Please fix it.

This is still an issue on 4.3.22. I have to go through a pile of hoops to work around this. Another year and no update on this issue, it has been 4 years now. Please fix.
