Description

For the past few versions, I've had problems with the clock being slow on a CentOS 5.4/5.5 64-bit guest running under Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS Server. I'm attaching the host dmesg, virtual box logs, guest dmesg and guest messages.

Yes, and it is documented under "12.4.1. Linux guests may cause a high CPU load"

Just add:

divider=10

...to your boot parameter, and problem solved.

But, yes, I agree, that having it as part of Guest Additions may be even better idea for the future.

divider=10 helps, but does not resolve the issue. In 45 minutes, the guest CentOS still lost about 4 minutes...

Still relevant with VBox 4.1.4?
