VirtualBox 3.2.8 r64453 darwin.x86 (Aug 5 2010 13:55:35) OS X 10.6.4 on iMac 4 core i5 processor (made in september 2009) Can use USB optical drive on TOAST to write various media Not listed as available under storage cd/dvd device

Additionally, no USB device can be successfully "given" to the VirtualBox guest in the same OS and real machine.

This MIGHT be related to Ticket #7436

I have attached a note to Ticket #7346 about a problem with Windows XP and a USB "thumb" that I resolved by using a USB filter with "remote" field changed from "any" to "No" and other fields blank.

I see no such option as "remote" when I edit the USB filter.
