Ticket #7304 (closed defect: fixed)
imgburn can't verify a disc (passthrough enabled)
|Reported by:||mhanor||Owned by:|
Host & guest: Windows XP SP3 32 bit, passthrough enabled, the host optical drive is a LG GSA-H62N
The issue: Writing a disc is successful, but Imgburn fails to verify the content of the freshly written disc.
ImgBurn's settings are the default ones, I/O is set to STPI. I've written a very small ISO image (memtest86+) on a CDRW disk, which checks ok with ImgBurn, on the host. Inside the guest, the drive appears to read the disc without problem (watching the LED), then waits, reads some more, waits, then ImgBurn complains about I/O error. With the svn debug build, it triggers the assert from src\VBox\Runtime\win\RTErrConvertFromWin32.cpp(402) RTErrConvertFromWin32 Unhandled error 1117, ERROR_IO_DEVICE
ImgBurn displaying the I/O error:
I/O Error! Device: [1:0:0] VBOX CD-ROM 1.0 (D:) (ATA) ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: BE 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 10 00 00 Interpretation: Read CD - Sector: 0 Sense Area: CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC Interpretation: Buggy Sense Area Detected! (RC: 0x4C, D-SK: OxOC, D-ASC: OxCC, D-ASCQ: OxCC, F-SK: OxOC, F-ASC: OxCC, F-ASCQ: OxCC)
Also, the "Create image file from disc" and "Verify disc" tools have issues, it waits with the "Initialise disc" message, if a disc is present inside.
I can reproduce it.
