Unresponsive ubuntu workspace during seamless integration during high cpu usage for guest

Description
If seamless mode is entered and high cpu usage occurs, there is no way to interact with the ubuntu desktop unless you exit seamless mode. However, when my mouse goes over the file menus, the menus light up orange but they dont come down. Possibly due to new kernel updates?

in fact, i just left seamless mode and for about 6 seconds the desktop was unresponsive even though it wasn't in seamless mode. Then it became responsive.
