#7050 closed defect (obsolete)
the installer repair option doesn't function properly
Reported by: | Mihai Hanor | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Component: | installer | Version: | VirtualBox 3.2.4 |

Guest type: | other | Host type: | Windows |
Description (last modified by )
Host OS: Windows XP SP3 32 bit, Windows Installer 4.5 for XP (patched)
Tested: VB 3.2.4, 3.2.6 beta1 and beta2
The problem: trying to repair the VB installation.
The repair process reaches the end, asking at the end to reboot the host, while it automatically launches VirtualBox.exe (I don't think it should do that). Clicking yes to reboot, the VB installer displays error 1461 while the host starts the reboot process.
I can reproduce this every time.

Doing a repair from "Add/remove programs" doesn't display that error, but by launching the setup kit that was used to install VB in the first place.

Thanks for the report; will take a look.
The same error occurs with 3.2.6 release code.

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
sorry, it's error 1641 and the reboot request and the launching of the main frontend comes after clicking "Finish" at the end of the repair process
