Mac OS X 10.6 Server Host & Mac OS X 10.6 Server Guest - Limited to 2GB RAM

Reported by: wyrdR Owned by:
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 3.2.4
Keywords: Cc:
Guest type: OSX Server Host type: Mac OS X

Description

Cannot assign more than 2GB RAM to Mac OS X Server guest.

Host is new Xserve Mac OS X Server 10.6 (64 bit) with 12GB physical RAM available.

N.B. Trying to start VM with Mac OS X Server (64 bit) selected fails – see also related ticket:

Mac OS X 10.6 Server Host & Mac OS X 10.6 Server Guest - 'Mac OS X Server (64 bit)' fails

why 2GB is the max size of memory for VM using EFI?

Snow Leopard on Snow Leopard - 64Bit issues/2GB RAM limit?

"Fixed in SVN" - Does this mean it is likely to be fixed as soon as the next non-beta release?
