Description

Hey!

I'm facing this simple problem: i have a server with approx 16 virtualbox vms. all of them run in vrdp mode. now i upgraded virtualbox from 3.1.8 to 3.2.4 and want to update the additions in the vms (without booting them with the normal GUI). i need to get a quite lengthy commandline right for each machine to mount the additions is (it got a lot worse with the new storagectl stuff...).

i'm having the same problem in other cases too, everytime i want to mount an arbitrary DVD image. it can't be too hard to allow for DVD changes is the GUI, right? even if the guest is running...?

ideas?

I've also run into this and agree that being able to mount (and dismount) DVDs from the GUI of a running, headless VM would be helpful. Likewise for USB filters.

This is possible as of VBox 4.1.0. Just start the GUI on the host where the VMs are running and open the VM settings for each VM.
