Description (last modified by aeichner)

Hi,

I'm running VB 3.2.2 Windows XP guest on a Linux host. The HTC sync software installed (latest) in the guest can't recognize my Tattoo plugged in via. USB, even though Windows XP recognizes the device. I've attached a screen shot and VB log. Please take a look.

I think others are facing similar issues. Please see http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22513&p=141270

Thanks, Jeenu

Same problem here, Virtualbox 3.2.8 r64453 and HTC Sync 3.0.5422.

Problem still exists in 4.1.6.

Add a USB filter and only fill in the vendor ID "0bb4" solved it! :)

I tried setting the USB filter with vendor id 0bb4 (HTC Corporation), which is also the correct vendor ID for me, but it does not work! It just sits there, saying waiting for phone. On the phone, it says waiting for PC.

The usb device icon in the bottom left corner of the VirtualBox window blinks, but nothing happens. Except for windows saying "Found new hardware...", it is as if nothing happened.

Solved for me:

I turned off USB 2 support in the vbox setup, loaded the VM and finally HTC Sync worked. I tried everything else before that. The vbox guest always did see the Android HTC USB connected but HTC Sync NEVER said Connected - I've tried for over 1 year now searching the Net. With USB 2 off, it now it works.

Debian Lenny host 4.1.8. WinXP guest. HTC Desire.

Maybe this will apply to your individual configurations, maybe not.
