VB 3.20 kernel crash with 2D/3D acceleration

Description

Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 fully updated host, where VB 3.18 was working fine, with the Windows XP guest machine in question, with 2D and 3D acceleration enabled.

Upgraded to VB 3.20 and the guest vanishes with no warning at a reproducible point of operation of one guest application. It also happens with other applications but was not investigated further. It was operating on seamless mode, if that matters.

The system log message is: kernel: [ 6329.181389] VirtualBox[9043]: segfault at 4 ip 08d1f289 sp bf914f00 error 4 in libQtOpenGL.so.4.6.2[8d02000+c5000]

If 2D and 3D acceleration are unchecked, the problem disappears.

I suspect this could be related to situation of ticket #6747 but could find the opportunity yet to test DxDiag.

to localize the problem, could you try whether this happens when only 2D and when only 3D is enabled.

Thank you for your reply; now that you ask, I feel that I should have done a more methodic test.

So, it only happens with 2D enabled, regardless of the state of 3D.

Unfortunately there is no much useful info in the log. It would be great if you could provide me a core dump. If you can provide one then please post me an email at mikhail dot sennikovsky at sun dot com so I can tell you an FTP server for uploading the file.

After almost one week of operation with v3.26, problem never showed up again. Once again, thank you for such a wonderful product.
