Windows 7 64-bit client launch stops fan!

Description

On my ASUS M51VA notebook, the fan is controlled by a script and a C program. Depending on the CPU temp readings, they set the correct fan speed.

When I launch Windows 7 64-bit client under Fedora 11 and the latest Virtualbox, the "fan.c" code crashes, returning segmentation fault. This causes CPU to overhead to over 100 degrees C.

If I reboot the machine and do not launch virtualbox, the fan.c works fine setting the correct fan speed.

Typo: it should have read "overheat" not overhead

Sorry, but I don't see what this has to do with VirtualBox. I'd say try to first find out why and where this fan app crashes. It might or might not be a coincidence that VirtualBox triggers this, but with so little information we can't say anything meaningful.
