Virtual box 1.5.0 unable to boot Geexbox 1.1 and 2.x on windows host

Description
Virtual box 1.5.0 is unable to boot Geexbox 1.1 and 2.x on windows host machine. For Geexbox 2.x series livecd downloadable @ (http://www.geexbox.org/~ben/v2/geexbox-sherkhan-20061231-en.i386.iso)
I am getting errors like unable to recognize the CD-ROM device.
For Geexbox 1.x series livecd downloadable @ (http://geexbox.org/en/downloads.html)
All I see is a blank screen after the progress-bar is filled/completed If I run the debug mode in geexbox, it stops responding after some time.
I am using the following settings:

Shared Folders None
Remote Display Disabled
The CDROM drive is somehow not recognized. This is not very surprising as this software is meant to run on an XboX with dedicated hardware.
